What’s up with Virgin Voyages’ 2025 Black Friday deals?
This year, Virgin Voyages is running two separate Black Friday promos. Let’s dive into the differences and which promo is best for you.
80% Off the Second Sailor + Free Bar Tab
The $99 Sale (Lock-It-In Rates)
80% Off the Second Sailor + Free Bar Tab
This is the standard Black Friday deal most people will want.
What you get:
80% off Sailor 2’s base fare
A Bar Tab per cabin (not per person)
Bar Tab amounts depend on:
The region (Caribbean has slightly higher values)
The voyage length
The cabin you choose (RockStar gets the highest)
Caribbean sailings (MIA/SJU):
10+ nights: $500 RS / $300 ST
6–9 nights: $350 RS / $200 ST
4–5 nights: $125 RS / $75 ST
All other regions:
10+ nights: $400 RS / $200 ST
6–9 nights: $300 RS / $150 ST
4–5 nights: $100 RS / $50 ST
Most regular balcony categories (Sea Terrace) qualify for both the % off and the bar tab.
The $99 Sale (Lock-It-In Rates)
Only available on specific sailing dates listed by VV.
What it is:
A limited number of Insider-level cabins priced at $99 per person per night, including taxes/fees.
BUT:
Only on certain dates
VV can add/remove them anytime (inventory-based)
These do not get the Bar Tab
Some cabin types are excluded (e.g., solos)
Excellent if you only care about the cheapest possible fare and don't care about cabin type or perks.
Dates & Fine Print
Booking window: Nov 21 – Dec 4, 2025
Some rates can be stacked with resident/military/loyalty/circle offers; others can’t.
Standard cancellation policies apply.
Which deal should YOU choose?
When to choose 80% off / Bar Tab:
1. You want a Sea Terrace (balcony) or Sea View
The % off + bar tab promo applies to:
Sea Terrace Meta Category (all balcony types except solos)
Sea View (including Lock-It-In Rate Sea View)
The Insider
Select RockStar Suites
But the $99 deal only applies to Insider cabins, not balconies. So if you don’t want an interior, this is instantly the better offer.
2. You want a specific cabin, not a random GTY
The $99 Sale is a true Lock-It-In Rate:
You pick a minimum category
Virgin assigns your cabin later
No guarantee of location, deck, noise level, etc.
3. Bar Tab value exceeds the price difference
This is a big one.
If a cabin under the % off deal costs even $150-$300 more than the GTY $99 rate, the bar tab often erases the difference—and you get a better cabin class to begin with.
4. You’re traveling with more than 2 people
If there are four (4) Sailors traveling together in one cabin, all four (4) Sailors will receive 40% off their Voyage Fare.
5. You're booking RockStar Suites
RockStar Suites under the 80% off promo get:
$500 bar tab (Caribbean)
$400 bar tab (non-Caribbean)
Choosing the $99 offer would be catastrophic math-wise for a suite, because you lose:
The bar tab
The 80% off
The ability to book RockStar at all (the $99 rate doesn’t apply to suites)
6. Your sailing doesn't appear on the $99 eligible list
The $99 sale has very limited dates. If you’re not sailing on those exact dates → the 80% + bar tab promo is your only option.
When to choose the $99 deal:
1. You want the absolute cheapest fare possible
This is the #1 reason. The $99 sale produces extremely low total prices — sometimes cheaper than Virgin’s staff rates.
If you don’t care about cabin type or perks, this is unbeatable.
2. You’re sailing solo
Solo cabins do not get the 80% off or bar tab. But a solo sailor can still book a Lock-It-In Insider at $99 pp per night and come out ahead.
3. You genuinely don’t care where your cabin is
If you:
Spend very little time in your cabin
Are not bothered by potential noise
Then the $99 cabin assignment system won’t bother you.
4. You’re booking a very short cruise and don't drink much
Because the bar tab is smaller:
Caribbean 4–5 nights: $75–$125
Other regions: $50–$100
If you don’t drink or spend onboard, the bar tab may not outweigh the savings of the $99 rate.
